The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic has sentenced 33 Ukrainian servicemen to prison terms ranging from 27 to 29 years. The servicemen of the 36th Independent Marine Brigade and the 17th Independent Tank Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been convicted for shelling a number of civilian areas in the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The investigation found that from February 24 to March 10, 2022, these servicemen carried out a series of strikes on the settlements of Zaichenko, Sakhanka, Dzerzhinskoye, Sartana, Talakovka and Stariy Krym using 122-mm and 152-mm self-propelled artillery units with the aim of destroying social infrastructure, intimidating and killing civilians. The convicted men will serve their sentences in a high security penal colony.
