Heavy Battles In Bakhmut, Azov POWs Return With Zelensky, Shoigu Visits Troops | Russia Ukraine War

The Governor of Belgorod Oblast claims the Russian border city of Shebekino was bombed during the early hours of July 8. At least 8 people have been killed as Russia shelled Lyman in Donetsk Oblast with multiple rocket launchers. British Intelligence says Intense fighting has resumed in Bakhmut, with Kyiv’s forces making gains along the north and south of the city. Azovstal defenders will return home with Zelensky from Turkey, where they had been kept after a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia. Meanwhile, the Russian Defence Minister visited the Southern Military District to inspect the combat training of Russia’s newly created military units. Pentagon announced $800 million aid package for Ukraine, including cluster munitions, armoured vehicles, and ammunition. Colin Kahl, Under Secretary of Defence for Policy, cited Putin’s grim “theory of victory” to justify Biden’s cluster bomb supply to Kyiv.
