I-Team: Fired ER doctor explains reason for not getting COVID-19 vaccine

By Randy Travis Published Oct. 7, 2021 TYRONE, Ga. - The only Georgia physician known to be fired for defying a COVID vaccine mandate insisted he’s not an anti-vaxxer. Redwood is well known in the Atlanta medical community. He spent 16 years as medical director of emergency services for Wellstar Kennestone in Marietta. He worked for four years as an emergency room physician at Piedmont. Just last month, he was reappointed to the medical staff of Piedmont Atlanta with full privileges. But last week, Redwood says he was fired from working in both hospital systems for failing to follow vaccine mandates for all healthcare employees.
