Washington, D. C. Metro

Washington, D. C. Metro stations designed by Harry Weese are considered to be one of the finest example of Brutalist architecture and ranks among the greatest public works. Each station in the 100 mile Metro system looks similar but is slightly different; none have been marred by graffiti. Sound is absorbed by panels set in coffered vaults. Ridership is second largest in the country. Newer stations have a different design.
