Hungary PM Orban warns of ’serious dangers’ at the borders at new army recruit swearing-in ceremony

Hungarian PM Viktor Orban talked of ’serious dangers’ at Hungary’s borders, including military conflict in Ukraine, transportation of weapons out of western Europe to Ukraine as well as ’illegal migrants’ from the south, at a swearing-in ceremony for army recruits and handover of German-made Lynx armored vehicles. Sanctions may break Europe, many people’s livelihood is already under risk and Hungary seem to be facing a protracted war, Orban said, which is why the country needs a strong and capable military that can act as a deterrence force and guarantee peace. The day also marked the handover of the first of the Lynx armored vehicles to Hungary. The Lynx, made by German firm Rheinmetall, is a highly modular vehicle that will replace Hungary’s Soviet-era BRT vehicles, which have inadequate armor protection. Hungary and the company signed a 2-billion-euro contract in 2020 for 218 such vehicles. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality c
