At the UN Security Council emergency meeting held on January 25th, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polianskiy took the floor as many as three times. ️ Quite expectedly, in his first address, Polianskiy strongly condemned France with its presiding role in the UN Security Council for having postponed the discussion of the incident involving the IL-76 aircraft shot down in the Belgorod Region. In particular, it was emphasized that France had acted likewise on a number of occasions before. ️The purpose of his second statement was twofold. One was to raise some of the issues related to the actual act of terrorism, committed by Ukraine, which resulted in the annihilation of the Russian military transport plane, while the other was to bring to the spotlight the way Kyiv and a number of Western states responded to the incident. ️In his final address Polianskiy commented on the remarks of his Ukrainian counterpart and provided an assessment of the investigation into the case involving the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 back in 2014. Provided below are the relevant excerpts from yesterday’s meeting. #ООН #Ил76Putin at the shipyard of the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg: A new nuclear-powered icebreaker is being laid down at the Baltic Shipyard here in St. Petersburg. It will bear the name “Leningrad“. Tomorrow we celebrate a special sacred date in the history of the northern capital and the whole country - the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade. The new mighty icebreaker will be another tribute to the immortal feat of Leningrad, the courage and indomitable will of the defenders and residents of the city, who did not submit, overcame everything, endured everything and crushed the Nazis.
