I spent mine eating lots and reading through The Hunger Games and the two other novels that follow it... I’m absolutely obsessed. (Peeta Mellark, anyone?!) “The Hanging Tree“ appears in the final novel in the series, as a haunting song that Katniss sings for the mockingjays. I realize now there are already popular versions of this floating around, but when I first read these lyrics, I couldn’t shake the melody that immediately popped into my head — I had to arrange and record it! I tried to give it as accurate of a mood as I could and play around with the mockingjay harmonies that Katniss mentions, so I hope you enjoy it. It was so much fun to work on! ♥ :) Th
