Elton John Band Live at Wembley Stadium ’84 - Best Possible Quality - Complete Show

In my opinion this is the best performance by The Elton John Band on tour in 1984. The video was transferred directly from the best possible source (Laserdisc) for highest video and audio quality. This concert was shot at Wembley Stadium in England on June 30, 1984. It was originally broken into two separate programs for broadcast on American television. Even though the TV programs were titled “Breaking Hearts Tour“ (the name of the North American ’84 tour) the European leg was actually dubbed “European Express Tour“. The European shows began April 17, 1984 and culminated with this performance on June 30, 1984. The American “Breaking Hearts Tour“ began Aug 17, 1984 and ran through Nov 18, 1984. It included five sold-out concerts in New York City performed at Madison Square Garden. To serious fans this show will always be special; as it was the last time Elton would be professionally filmed performing with the original “Elton John Band“ comprised of Dee Murray (bass), Nigel Olsson (drums) and Davey Johnstone (guitar). The music this band produced between 1970-75 was by far the best of Elton’s career; and represents some of the greatest recordings in the history of popular music. After this tour Elton would never sound the same again.
