As part of the Zapad 2025 exercise, assault detachments of an army corps (Leningrad Military District) practised actions to destroy a sabotage and reconnaissance group and liberate a settlement from a mock enemy in Kaliningrad region. The assault detachment performed three main tactical tasks. At the approaches to the settlement, the servicemen eliminated a sabotage and reconnaissance group in an adjacent forest belt. The unit then clashed with a mock enemy in a stronghold. With the support of RPG-7 fire and a sniper pair, the assault detachments eliminated a machine gun team, after which they continued assault, mop-up, and secured themselves in a stronghold. UAVs were used for air surveillance to adjust the actions of the units. The servicemen also trained to evacuate the wounded and deliver ammunition using small vehicles.
