Giant panda Shuqin on Saturday afternoon gave birth to a cub at the Bifengxia base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Pandas in Ya’an City, southwest China’s Sichuan Province. Born at 14:03, the cub was the first baby for Shuqin. It was also the first baby panda born at the center in 2016. Shuqin held the panda cub in arms as soon as it was born. Staff of the base said the baby was healthy, judging from its sonorous voice. More on:
