The Giant! (1927)

A seventy foot high kite is the subject of this story. L/S of men working on ladders which are draped over the kite. It is on the ground presumably being prepared for launching. Several Japanese men work on it. Different angle of the men climbing up ladders. M/S of men in strange costumes (kimono style coats and boater hats...) pushing bicycles. The kite is moved along by a large number of people walking along holding the kite above their heads. M/S of large group of people on hillside watching the kite being launched. The kite has Japanese lettering on the side. “It takes all the surplus young men of Osaka to hold on when it goes aloft!“ reads the intertitle. L/S from hillside of large number of men in white outfits holding on to the rope which is attached to the kite. Other people watch. Low angle shot of the kite in the sky.
