Protests erupt at Holocaust museum opening in Amsterdam over Israeli President’s attendance

Protests erupted at the opening of the National Holocaust Museum in Amsterdam on Sunday as demonstrators condemned the attendance of Israeli President Isaac Herzog. Demonstrators called for an immediate ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. “I think it’s absurd that Herzog, the president of Israel, committing war crimes at this very moment, is present at the opening of this important memorial. It’s a slap in the face of victims, both in Gaza and the Jews that starved in World War Two,“ one protestor said.
