“They Haven’t Done Anything Wrong“ Ex-National Boxing Champion DEFENDS Imane Khelif’s Gold Medal Win

Mark Saggers brings former national amateur boxing champion Preya Dhanecha into the continuing debate surrounding boxer Imane Khelif’s gold medal win in the 2024 Olympics. Imane was born a girl and grew into a woman, but reportedly has XY chromosomes. Mark takes the view that being found to have male chromosomes should’ve meant instant disqualification, but Preya says it’s much more complex than that. Preya makes it clear that Imane hasn’t done anything wrong and has competed within the conditions set for all competitors. She also makes the point that Imane has lost big fights before; throwing cold water on the idea she has an unfair advantage.
