Ils se font connaître avec la réalisation de films de simulation de manège, d’abord assez courts puis de plus en plus longs, pour les parcs d’attractions. Après le succès de ces simulations, ils se lancent dans la production de leur premier long métrage, Fly Me to the Moon (2008), qui va marquer un tournant pour le studio qui devient un pionnier du divertissement familial à l’international, puisque c’est le premier film au monde à être produit en 3D stéréoscopique. Ces succès lançant leur carrière, les studios nWave ont depuis produit une dizaine de comédies d’aventure telles que Le Manoir magique en 2013, Bigfoot Junior en 2017 ou Royal Corgi en 2019 qui se sont exportés dans le monde entier. Actuellement, ils sont en production de la suite de Hopper et le Hamster des ténèbres, réalisé par Benjamin Mousquet dont la livraison est prévue à la fin de l’année. ////// Founded in 1994 by a group of artists, nWave is a fully integrated animation studio that rapidly became renowned for its expertise in CGI and 3D. They made a name for themselves making short, then increasingly longer, ride simulation films for park attractions. After the blinding success of these simulations, they embarked on their first feature film, Fly Me to the Moon (2008), a turning point for the studio as they became pioneers in family entertainment on an international scale as it was the first film in the world to be created for stereoscope 3D. These successes launched their career, and since then nWave Studios has produced a dozen adventure comedies including The House of Magic in 2013, The Son of Bigfoot in 2017, and The Queen’s Corgi in 2019, which have all been exported worldwide.
