Why Do People Lie?

Why do people lie? Is it because we are trying to hide something? Is it because we feel guilty? Subscribe to AOQ: The answer to all of those questions . We lie for a lot of different reasons but lying is believed to be rooted in natural selection. Basically, we tell lies to make ourselves look better or protect ourselves so that we can be more accepted, which gives us a better chance of survival as well as increasing our chances of reproducing. As humans, we begin lying as early as 6 months old, in the form of a fake laugh or cry, to get the attention of other humans around us. As we develop language skills we start telling lies right away but because we haven’t developed the ability to know if it’s believable or not, sometimes the lies can be pretty absurd. It’s also interesting to know that we usually lie around 10 times per week on average. Sometimes it’s a serious lie and other times it’s just a small “white lie“ to protect the feelings of others or their view of us. ======================================== Check out my video tips channel: ======================================== Subscribe to All Our Questions: ======================================== I hope you enjoyed this video about why people lie!
