Can You Beat Dark Souls 2 By Stabbing Yourself in the Stomach?

Can I beat Dark Souls 2 using only the self-damaging L2 buffing animation of Sir Alonne sword to inflict damage? Because it actually has a hitbox and does a surprising amount of damage. The obvious problem of course is that this slow animation will do massive damage to yourself while leaving you completely vulnerable and the hitbox is er... not too reliable. And Just like in my immolation run before, when you can only deal damage by hurting yourself, it will make DS2 a very painful experience.
