Protesters demand closure of US Air Base Ramstein in Kaiserslautern, Germany

Anti-war activists from Germany, Austria and France held a protest in Kaiserslautern, a city in southeast Germany on June 22. The rally is part of an annual week-long series of events to demand the closure of the nearby US Air Base Ramstein. Ramstein Air Base is a United States Air Force base in Rhineland-Palatinate, a state of Germany. It serves as headquarters for the US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and is also a NATO installation. Ramstein is located near town of Ramstein-Miesenbach, in the rural district of Kaiserslautern. Demonstrators said that since the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the US-led NATO has gradually escalated its military support for Ukraine, which has led to the extension and escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. They called on all parties involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict to start negotiations as soon as possible and resolve the crisis through diplomatic means. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
