The Highwayman Intro & Opening Credits - TV Series

The short-lived 1987 NBC action series “The Highwayman“ starred Sam J. Jones (aka 1980’s Flash Gordon) as a futuristic federal marshal driving a high-tech 18-wheeler with a cab that could transform into a helicopter. With his sidekick Jetto (played by Australian Energizer Batteries pitchman Jacko), they worked for government agent Jane Badler (best remembered as Diana in the original Eighties version of “V“), hauling classified cargo and fighting criminals “where ordinary laws do not reach“ - whatever that meant. “The Highwayman“ wanted to be a Mad Max and Knight Rider rolled into one but the show didn’t catch on despite or perhaps because of plot lines involving aliens, clones, Indian curses, time travel, mind control, and organ harvesting. A TV movie and 8 episodes are all that came about of this Glen A. Larson production.
