Pain and horror were the foundation of my childhood but I refuse to let it define me anymore. Instead, I now use my story in song to give hope to those who still suffer, those who haven’t found their voice yet, for victims & survivors of child abuse around the world. I wrote this song to my uncle, one of the first songs I wrote. I hated him, I don’t anymore! I didn’t get justice because I was deemed mentally unfit to testify because of the damage he caused but I have my justice now standing on stage. I am not surviving anymore I AM THRIVING! This show is about my life, warts and all. It angers me to sing SURVIVING because I have to look him in the eye each time, I want him to know I am not silent anymore.
