One of the most sampled Kicks and Snares of any record | Pepsi & Shirlie “Heartache“
One of the more sampled 12“ records was “Heartache“ with Pepsi and Shirlie. Let’s sample this into the Akai S900 and isolate the kick and snare and use it differently. Just to show how it was done.
In the mid- to late 80s 12“ maxi singles were great sources for sampling. Often you could find sections with just the drums, where you could chop it up and isolate the kick, snares hats etc. This was very common and with EQ and processing no one would ever find out.
