Low defence spending isolating Canada amongst NATO allies, expert says
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau heads to Washington today for a meeting of NATO nations, without a clear plan to meet the alliance’s defence spending targets. Stéfanie von Hlatky, a Queen’s University political studies professor, is in Washington during the summit and says the low defence spending will impact Canada’s reputation as a ‘reliable ally.’
