The 2021 Milano - Torino took place on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 and covered a distance of 190 km. The first edition of the race was raced in 1876. It is the oldest Bicycle Race. This year the race started in the town of Magenta, part of the Metropolitan Area of Milano, in the Italian region of Lombardia. The race ends in the City of Torino in the Italian Region of Piemonte, right outside the Basilica di Superga. The Basilica lies on top of a mountain, the road to the Basilica is a climb. The first 3.9 km of the climb have an Average Gradient of 9.1%., in this section at kilometer there is a section of about 500 meters with a Gradient of 14%. The last kilometer has an Average Gradient of 8.7%. The Elevation of Torino is 239m (784 ft) above sea level. But, the Basilica is located at an elevation of 684m. The riders must race up the climb twice before crossing the Finish Line in front of the Basilica.
