Skratch School - Roland DJ-808 - Recreating Run-DMC’s “Peter Piper“
Skratch Bastid recreates Run-DMC’s classic “Peter Piper“ using the Roland DJ-808 controller during this demo/test video. The DJ-808 features channels for 4 Serato decks as well as a dedicated channel for it’s built in, sync-able drum sequencer, featuring selectable sounds from the 909, 808, 707, and 606. To recreate this song, Bastid used the TR-808, the Peter Piper acapella (left deck), and a file containing Bob James’ “Take Me To The Mardi Gras“ & a horn sample from John Davis Orchestra’s “I Can’t Stop“ (courtesy of Ultimate Breaks & Beats) (right deck).
