I forge an incredible kukri in an old spring ! The result is amazing and it cuts like a razor!!! In this video I make a KUKRI with leaf springs. You will find all the manufacturing steps and as a bonus at the end of the trash test video 😊 The khukuri is designed for striking and cutting, but can also be used as a dagger. Its shape is very variable, being almost straight or very curved, with a smooth back. The dimensions and thickness of the blade depend on the manufacturing methods used, but also on the region of origin of the blacksmith. Khukuri blades generally have a notch at their base (“Kauda”, “Kaudi”, “Kaura” or “Cho”), for many reasons, both practical and traditional. Sap and blood will drip from the blade instead of dripping onto the handle, the end of the blade is clearly delineated for sharpening, and it also features a cow’s hoof, a symbol of Shiva.
