Athena and Poseidon | Greek Mythology Stories | Ancient Greek Gods and Goddesses Athena and Poseidon were two of the twelve Olympians. Athena was the goddess of wisdom and war. Poseidon was the god of the sea. The head Olympian was Zeus, who was Poseidon’s brother and Athena’s father. This made Athena Poseidon’s niece.
