Gordon was a tall guy, 6 feet 2, to be precisely, that’s why people nicknamed him ‘Long Tall Dexter’. Dexter learned to play the clarinet when he was 13 but d...iscovered the saxophone two years later which he preferred playing on. He was also one step ahead from other starting musicians because his dad was a doctor and Duke Ellington and Lionel Hampton were his dads patients. Gordon was a striking artist.
