People were trapped after big flood hit Patzun and Suchitepéquez, Guatemala. 7 Mei 2021. Four people were trapped in the middle of the current of the San Francisco River, in Río Bravo, Suchitepéquez, which increased its channel suddenly due to the intense rain that falls in that region of the South Coast, reported the National Coordinator for Reduction Disaster (Conred). Initially, the authorities reported that there were eight people. According to reports from local authorities, volunteer firefighters from three companies arrived at the scene together with Army personnel to bring the people to safety. After several hours of coordinated work, those affected were taken out of the river and taken to a safe place to be evaluated by medical personnel.
