Never Give Up: The story of the Homeland Brass Band

Welcome to the Homeland Brass Band from Gabba, Kampala, Uganda. My name is Florence aka FloMoon and these are my kids, we’re the Homeland Brass Band, a place where young people having a tough time in life can come and eat, be at peace, make friends and learn music. With the money I make on tour and friends helping out, our Brass Band keeps on growing and today some kids even start to learn guitare, music production and DJing. Keeping everything going is tough and the kids need a lot of support, that’s why we want to share our story with you and hope that you will share it with your friends, and one day visit us in Kampala. Our friend Mika Oki brought for us new trumpets, if you also have instruments you want to donate to us that will bring us great joy. Homeland Brass Band (HBB) is a project that welcomes young people from the slums of Gabba to train in music, commune in a safe environment and receive support to sustain their primary and secondary school education. 53 people have already supported us and this is link where u too can help Visit us or invite us to play for your event! Special thanks @mayadmt
