Demonstrators could also be seen standing on a caricature of US President Joe Biden, and leading chants condemning Israel and Saudi Arabia. “Israel should know that the resistance front, loyal Haj Qasem’s soldiers have taken the comfortable sleep from them and will do so. Palestine is not alone. Today, our message from the Palestine Square of Tehran is: Palestine! You are not alone.“ said Mohsen Mahmoudi, head of the Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council, as he spoke from a stage in the city. Quds Day, with Quds being the Arabic for Jerusalem, takes place annually, and is usually held on the last Friday of Ramadan, as designated by the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979 in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
