I’m sad to say that this eruption starts extremely strong and the magma flow is likely over 100 . sec. and the fissure length is close to 4km. I don’t think it’s one single soul from Grindavík sleeping tonight while the town begs its fate and we can only hope for a good outcome since lava barriers hold for only so long, and this amount of lava is simply hard to deal with. We did however get good news shortly before 03:00 GMT from the Coast Guard helicopter that confirmed that lava is currently not on the way to town that has been evacuated since November 10th.
