Biden says ’I love my country’ in first address since dropping out of 2024 race
President Biden addressed the country on Wednesday night, explaining his abrupt departure from the 2024 presidential race earlier in the week.
Biden, 81, decided “the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation.“
In his remarks, President Biden said he “reveres“ the Oval Office, “but I love my country more.“
“It’s been the honor of my life to serve as your president, but the defense of democracy, which is at stake, I think is more important than any title.“
