Welcome to Ashgabat, capital of one of the strangest countries I’ve been to. This is the second travel vlog in our Turkmenistan series! While travelling through Ashgabat, things seem strange. Everything is vibrantly white and gold, and there is no one around... If you’re looking for the strangest and most bizarre places to visit in 2020, Turkmenistan might be it. The presidents of this country have taken a liking to collecting Guinness World Records. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan’s Dictator/President and the former (now deceased) president Turkmenbashi have decorated the capital of this closed republic with white marble, and buildings built to break records. Highest density of white marble clad buildings, largest architectural star, and this... the largest indoor Ferris Wheel, and many many more.
