Michael Sembello ~ Maniac 1983 Disco Purrfection Version

Micheal hails from Philadelphia, PA born on April 17, 1954 and started his career as a session musican. Soon he was working with the likes of Stevie Wonder on his classic “Fufillingness’ First Finale“ and then was asked to work on “Songs From The Key Of Life“ the following year. That opened many doors for him and he ended working with Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, New Edition, Stanley Clarke, George Benson, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer and David Sanborn. He continued to write and record demos, one of them was written for a “Halloween“ type slasher flick, but never got used. Phil Ramone contacted him and asked if Sembello had anything he could contribute, so Michael sent him a cassette tape of several demos, not realizing that “Maniac“ had been included.
