Voir Est Savoir 2020 - Vote 19 - Tamara Rossy and Alexandra Iouranova This is a colorized scanning electron microscopy picture of Human Bronchial Epithelial cells grown at the air-liquid interface to mimic the conditions they encounter in the lungs. Upon differentiation, these cells grow cilia (manually colorized in pink) making the tissue look like an underwater landscape.
