Lost Dads: New Research Findings on Divorced Fathers

Ben Hine talks about his new research that sheds light on the difficulties divorced fathers often find themselves in, especially if there are custody or visitation disputes involved in the post separation process. Ben is a professor of Applied Psychology within the University of West London’s School of Human and Social Sciences. His research examines the increased vulnerability faced by men following family breakdown, separation and divorce (FBSD), as well as the need for increased understanding, support and recognition. Ben surveyed 130 fathers in the UK and interviewed another 30 in an extended research he worked on for 12 months. He collaborated with six organizations who work with fathers and did a case review of 1,000 fathers, from client profiles from a charity that supports fathers.
