Flood and squally wind in the city of Mercedes, Uruguay

This Tuesday, a strong storm was recorded in the city of Mercedes, in the department of Soriano. The Metsul meteorological laboratory’s Twitter account reported that wind gusts reached 120 kilometers per hour, and the NGO Emergency Rescue Service (UCRE) reported that the storm cell caused damage and destruction in the city. The photos posted on the aforementioned social network showed damaged cars and buildings, blown roofs, power lines and falling trees. Firefighters, emergency services and the Departmental Emergency Coordination Center (Cecoed) are on the scene.
