Whale Song

Киты - пожалуй самые загадочные водные обитатели. Они красивы, очень умны и общительны, и вряд ли найдётся человек, который не слышал о пении китов. Песни китов длятся от шести минут до получаса. Их музыка очевидно организована, словно написана композитором. За 30 лет мировая популяция синих китов уменьшилась в сто раз — до одной тысячи особей. Гренландских китов осталось чуть более двух тысяч. Whales are perhaps the most mysterious aquatic inhabitants. They are beautiful, very intelligent and sociable, and there is hardly a person who has not heard about the singing of whales. Whale songs last from six minutes to half an hour. Their music is clearly organized, as if written by a composer. For 30 years, the world population of blue whales has decreased a hundred times - to one thousand individuals. There are just over two thousand bowhead whales left.
