Egypt. Title: “Egypt’s popular KING. SIR PERCY LORAINE - High Commissioner - attends celebrations in honour of 12th year of reign of KING FUAD“. High angled L/S of a gathering of people in a large garden. M/S of an orchestra of Egyptian soldiers all wearing fez hats. M/S of Sir Percy walking down steps in the garden chatting to a man in a fez, they are accompanied by several men in top hats. C/U of Sir P. tipping his hat and shaking someone’s hands. M/S of Sir P. chatting to a group of smartly dressed Egyptian men. M/S of Sir P. and others sitting outside at a long banqueting table. C/U of Sir P. chatting with a man in a fez - King Fuad, perhaps? Note: King Fuad’s 12th anniversary was in 1929. There is another version of this story in a 1929 Gazette issue - G 1661.
