On 7 June 2022, WHO and FAO came together to celebrate World Food Safety Day. The day aims to draw attention and mobilize action to prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks and improve human health. Director-General Dr Tedros joined FAO director Dr QU Dongyu to discuss this year’s theme, ‘Safer food, better health’, and highlight how WHO and its partners are working through political advocacy and technical support for countries to strengthen their national food safety systems.
