Pattie Brooks: Our Ms. Brooks [Partial Album + Bonus] (1978)

Pattie Brooks was already riding high on club success with her first album when Casablanca Records decided she should sing the title track of their upcoming disco movie After Dark which premiered May 1978. Although the title was eventually changed to Thank God It’s Friday (and the title track performed by Love & Kisses), Pattie still enjoyed a #1 on the Billboard Disco Charts with the track, and on September 25, 1978, her second album hit the shops. Cleverly titled Our Ms. Brooks (after a 1950’s sitcom about a school teacher), the front cover showing Pattie in a class room, and transformed into a disco diva on the back cover. The album was once again produced by Simon Soussan, apart from the final track, The Back-Up Singer, which was written and produced by the late Bob Esty. Casablanca issued a promotional 12“ single with remixes of Heartbreak In Disguise and This Is The House Where Love Died.
