Electronic Warfare Issues In Ukraine When discussing Ukraine’s needs in its prolonged struggle against a neighboring military force, the focus primarily centers on technology—tanks, combat aircraft, missiles, air defense batteries, artillery pieces, and extensive ammunition stockpiles. Yet, a less highlighted weakness for Ukraine lies in the field of electronic warfare (EW), where it significantly lags. Western allies have shown minimal interest in addressing this critical deficiency. Over the years, the opposing force has placed substantial emphasis on leveraging its military-industrial complex to develop an impressive array of electronic warfare capabilities specifically designed to counter the modern networked weaponry of NATO systems. At the conflict’s outset, Ukraine, according to its Commander-in-Chief, primarily possessed Soviet-era EW systems. Initially, this capacity disparity had limited impact, but as front lines stabilized and Russian forces entrenched, potent Russian EW capabilities
