The second song of the first demo of my Black Metal project Mournful Winter. Written in 2009 and recorded in 2014 in Dungeons of Darkness.
At the time of writing the first songs I was heavily influenced by Burzum, Darkthrone, Katatonia, Inquisition and Front Beast. While the influence of those classic acts like Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest is and will always be present.
When writing music I aim for nothing more than writing music I really like.

Under a Winter Moon
Fir trees moan in the wind
Blaze my trail through snow
Remorseless and lethal chill
Hidden by an abysmal beauty
Icicles reflecting pale moonlight
Looking in a distorted mirror
Deceptive but captivating
Weakened by the force of winter
My traces disappear as I walk
Redeeming my future and my past
Unable to behold my entire shadow
A slipping sign of my identity
They don’t know what I hide
They’d despise it if they knew
Scars will remember silently
Not even this mournful winter...
...could release me
