Restaurant explosion kills two and injures dozens in China

Firefighters rushed to extinguish flames and clear debris after a massive blast at a restaurant in China’s northern Hebei province killed at least one person and injured 22 on Wednesday (March 13), state media report. The injured were sent to a hospital, according to CCTV. The explosion occurred at a fried chicken restaurant at around 8 a.m. (0000 GMT) in Sanhe, a county that lies around 80 km (50 miles) from Beijing, and is suspected to have been caused by a gas leak, CCTV added. The Langfang Fire Rescue Detachment said it has dispatched 36 vehicles and 154 people to the scene, adding that the fire was under control and that rescue work was being carried out. #china #explosion #blast Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
