Halifax, Nova Scotia. Oldest Photographs, Mi’kmaq, Norumbega, Citadel Hill, Star Forts Everywhere

Howdy ya’ll. Today we’re going to discuss the deep and intricate history of Halifax, Nova Scotia. I’ve compiled for you today roughly 100 photographs, plus over 50 additional images of relevance, to help paint the picture of the “old world” history of Halifax. In this sense, we endeavor to unfold the many layers of the narrative, trying to decipher the anomalies, from pre-history to the untimely loss of the best architecture of the city, all the while focusing on the oldest known photographs of Halifax. We have ties in the Indigenous Legends of Halifax to Norumbega, while numerous Star Forts of Nova Scotia appear like clockwork in a short amount of time. We have the vast Mi’kmaq people and their numerous stories of creation, and their vast population which resided in Nova Scotia for thousands of years.
