Chinese Embassy criticizes US for blocking, interrogating, harassing and deporting Chinese students

The Chinese Embassy in the US has expressed firm opposition to US action of blocking dozens of Chinese students at the border over past months, and issued a caution over travelling through a major American airport. China’s Ambassador to the US Xie Feng said it’s “absolutely unacceptable” that US authorities interrogated, harassed, canceled the visas of, and even deported students from China with valid travel permits upon their arrival at US airports. The Chinese Embassy in the US also issued a statement, reminding students planning to study in the US to carefully consider their choice of entering the country through Washington Dulles International Airport. The presidents of China and the US reached consensus on promoting cultural exchange and educational cooperation during their summit in San Francisco in 2023. However, such incidents reveal a clear disparity between talk and action of the US. As Ambassador Xie pointed out, “If normal people-to-people exchanges are cut off, how can the two major countries maintain and develop their relations?” __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
