Road Runner (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Tengen’s unlicensed 1989 arcade action game for the NES, Road Runner. The game has no ending, so I played up until level 26 and then let Wile E. Coyote catch me until I got a game over. The game repeats endlessly after level 21, so I cut the video there and show the game over screen. Road Runner is a great conversion of Atari’s 1985 coin-op. The graphics are sharp, the colors are hideously garish, and the sound is just as repetitive, mind-dulling, and catchy as you could possibly hope for from a mid-80s arcade game. The controls are a bit twitchy because of the speed of the game, but you figure out how to deal with that after a bit, and once you do, the game is incredibly fun. It does repeat before too long, but I find that it is one of those rare, super simple games that can compel me to play just to get a high score time and time again. At its core, it’s a mid-80s arcade game. Nothing more, nothing less, but very capably ported to the NES. Funnily enough,
