Diversity of Deep Sea Fish from Papahānaumokuākea | Nautilus Live
Enjoy sightings of various species of deep sea fish found in Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument with this highlight video, compiled from our exploration of Woollard Seamount, a previously unexplored seamount located roughly 40 nautical miles north of Hōlanikū (Kure Atoll).
Start off with a stunning chimera (also called rabbitfish or ratfish), the spooky-cute cartilaginous shark relative. Next, watch a slim halosaur cross paths with a much larger Coryphaenoides rattail fish. Last, get a good look at an Ophidiiformes fish (believed to be a brotula in the Diplacanthopoma genus).
