Watch Keir Starmer’s first major speech of 2024 | Labour

Sir Keir Starmer has vowed to “tilt Britain back towards the interests of working people” as he delivers a major speech setting out Labour’s stall ahead of the next general election. The Labour leader will use the speech in Bristol this morning to urge voters to hold on to the “flickering hope that things can be better”. He tweeted ahead of his address: “I didn’t come into politics to watch the Tories drive the country I love into the rocks of decline. “I want to tilt Britain back towards the interests of working people. So this year, I ask you to believe in our future again and vote Labour, to change the course of our country.” Read your updates here: #starmer #politics #labour Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
