Using cameras to measure colour and pattern

Cameras are powerful tools for measuring colour and pattern, but digital photographs can only be used to make objective measurements if they are correctly calibrated. That means using linear images and controlling for differences in lighting conditions. In this video I show how to take photos in an objective way (with and without photographing in ultraviolet), and then how to analyse those images using our multispectral image analysis toolbox.
