The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII was introduced in mid 2001 and based on the Lancer Cedia platform for the first time. The introduction of this car also marked the date of Mitsubishi finally shifting away from Group A to WRC rules in their World Rally Championship effort. While that WRC car was an outright disaster, the Lancer Evo VII and also it’s successor Evo VIII were successful as ever on PWRC and national levels.
